I don’t really think that having BMS here is necessary since it’s free and all you need is Steam and Source SDK Base 2007, you don’t even need any Source game.
Do I need steam for this to work? Because there isn’t an executable in the folder.

never mind …sorted …installed to a different dir than steam copied content to steam dir now working !!!!!
hi installed the game from the setup exe also have sdk on steam played the game for 3 hours
then went for tea break ….come to play again and its not in steam ???? all i get is the sdk stress test….did i do something wrong ???
install the sdk base on steam its free and under tools
than run the setup.exe in the main download folder of black mesa no need to unrar anything
you may need to restart steam

how do i run it?
@paul you will have to start the game using the play button in the steam window (after downloading SDK 2007)
